Student Development

Every artist was first an amateur

- R.W. Emerson

The effectiveness of a school’s training is best illustrated by the progress its students make, not necessarily in the quality of their finest work. The degree of progress students achieve at Atelier Stockholm varies, naturally, from one student to another, but all experience significant growth and advancement.

Below are some images that illustrate the development and growth of a number of our students. The images displayed are of works created by students between two months and three years after starting their training with our faculty. To see examples of student progress, simply select an image from the thumbnails below and then click on the enlarged image to display another by the same student that was created before they began their training.

NOTE: The “before” images are actual photos the students submitted with their student applications (and so were considered by them to be their best work at the time).
